Content (information) is the first and foremost criteria in any webpage. It is the reason that caused the web page to be created. Before you start a web page, ask yourself...
As more and more people are getting connected to the Internet everyday, there is a vast number of personal web pages being started. The majority of these are a simple personal page about their family or lives. Some people venture forward to start a small business online. The most important part is still... CONTENT. Yes, some pages may be about a pet hamster that sleeps all day, but, that is what they chose for their content.
A web page containing only links to other site (besides a search engine) is not really a web page. There is no actual content involved in these. Give the public (your visitors) something substantial. Give them a reason for returning to your web page again and again.
After content, the next important parts of a web site are NAVIGATION and LAYOUT. We will save those for a different page of discussion.
